TAXIDERMY SERVICES
Many of our clients choose to have their trophies mounted by
the taxidermy division of J.P. Kleinhans Safaris. J.P. is
himself a museum trained master taxidermist who personally
oversees each mount from the skinning to the artistic
completion of your mounted trophy.
J.P.’s finished work can be found in the homes of
discriminating sportsmen worldwide. As an African outfitter,
we have an intimate knowledge of all of the African species
and our goal is to capture the excitement of the hunt and
preserve it in a beautiful and permanent manner through the
art of taxidermy. Our turn around time for taxidermy work runs
between 7-9 months.
TROPHY
CARE
Extreme attention is given each trophy in the field upon
harvest. Our skinners are masters of their craft and your
trophy will be in expert hands from the harvest to the salt
pit. All skins are thoroughly cleaned, dipped, salted, dried
and folded into flat skins if the trophies are to be shipped
unmounted to the U.S. All skulls will be boiled, bleached, and
tagged prior to mounting or shipping.
OVERSEAS
SHIPPING
J.P. Kleinhans Safaris handles all necessary South African export
permits and paperwork. Mounted, or unmounted, your shipment
will be expertly packed by our trained staff prior to shipment
to the overseas port of entry.
The dip and pack fee is $50 U.S. per animal. If the trophies
are mounted by J.P. Kleinhans Safaris, there will be NO CHARGE
for the dip and pack process. We will also be happy to
recommend the services of a stateside customs clearing agent
to receive your trophies.
